Subject: Your 2010 NAGR Membership Renewal

Dear NAGR supporter,

I'm worried. Have you heard the news?

Gun control is on the move in Congress.

And if we do nothing, I can guarantee it will pass.

That's why your 2010 Membership Renewal with the National Association for Gun Rights is so important.

The news is going from bad to worse in a hurry, particularly where our gun rights are concerned.  Grassroots activists like you and I can’t simply hope that the anti-gunners are stopped this year.

"Hope" is not a plan.

I don't need to tell you the current White House, and the majority in Congress, is anti-gun.  As a member of the National Association for Gun Rights, you've witnessed it firsthand.

Without a herculean effort from gun owners, where we fight smarter and harder than ever before, I’m certain we face major restrictions on our right to keep and bear arms.

That's why I need to ask you to give more than you’ve ever given.

That is why returning your 2010 membership renewal with the National Association for Gun Rights before December 31, 2009, could not be more important.

Right now I'm trying to set the National Association for Gun Rights’ 2010 budget, and I feel like the Captain of the Titanic; water is coming over the side and we don’t have enough buckets to bail it out.

We are facing major legislative battles which could shape our Second Amendment rights for decades to come.

From gun registration and confiscation schemes like H.R. 45, to an outright ban on certain kinds of weapons, to classifying gun owners as “domestic terrorists,” to the quasi-governmental United Nations Small Arms gun ban; the National Association for Gun Rights has its work cut out for it in the U.S. House and Senate.

And that's just the legislative battles.

I'm proud to say the National Association for Gun Rights has waded into legal battles over the right to keep and bear arms.

Our recent amicus brief in the MacDonald v. Chicago case is just the tip of the iceberg.  Gun owners need to continue to push the legal envelope against anti-gun city regulations and intrusive, unconstitutional state and federal gun control laws.

The bad news is the National Association for Gun Rights just doesn’t have the money to fight all the legal battles that need to be fought -- unless you join with me in committing to membership in the National Association for Gun Rights.

To make matters worse, 2010 is an election year, and you know what that means...

. . . RIGHT NOW is the prime time to be holding politicians accountable.

Gun owners must use primary and general elections to force politicians to support our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

There is nothing more important to a politician than re-election.  If gun owners can threaten a politician’s re-election, we can force them to vote right.

Politicians who ride the fence must be forced to vote right, and the ones who vote against our rights must be voted out of office.

As simple as that sounds it takes a lot of time and treasure to fight battles in the legislature, to take the fight to the anti-gunners in court and to hold politicians accountable during an election.

Your 2010 membership renewal with the National Association for Gun Rights could be the difference between victory and the loss of our gun rights.

Gun owners are at a crossroads this year.

The National Association for Gun Rights, with the help of our strong grassroots membership, has been able to fight back and expose the gun control schemes of anti-gunners in Congress, but we need your help to continue.

The job before the National Association for Gun Rights, and grassroots activists like you and me, is staggering. The number of battles we must fight is mind-boggling.

I'm writing this e-mail because I'm convinced the grassroots supporters of the National Association for Gun Rights are the only thing standing in the way of Sarah Brady's lapdogs in the White House and Congress.

The National Association for Gun Rights is one of the very few groups in America that opposes gun control at every turn -- whether sponsored by Republicans or Democrats -- and is dedicated to doing everything possible to defend our rights.

In short, we will make the gun-grabbers pay for every inch they attempt to take.

We’re not going to cut deals in smoke-filled rooms with our enemies. There will be no compromise.

Instead, our plan is to draw a line in the sand. And hold them accountable for every vote, every degradation of our right to keep and bear arms.

Unfortunately, with rising costs of paper and other supplies and yet another hike in postage, we're going to be forced to cut back -- at a time in which we must do even more -- unless you renew your 2010 membership with the National Association for Gun Rights, and renew your membership at an even greater level.

The truth is, we can't afford to let the anti-gun lobby -- who has revenue coffers running up into the millions of dollars and whose fat-cat executives draw six-figure salaries -- run the show.  We know what that brings: more gun control.

The sad truth is, once a right is lost, it is almost impossible to reclaim it.  We are facing an anti-gun onslaught, the likes of which I haven’t seen in my 20 years in professional politics. That is why I'm asking you to dig deep and renew your membership with the National Association for Gun Rights.Costs are rising and the threat is greater now than ever before.  The National Association for Gun Rights runs a lean, mean gun-control fighting machine.Whichever level you choose is up to you, but please let me know today that you have decided to renew your 2010 membership in the National Association for Gun Rights.

It is imperative that you renew your membership with the National Association for Gun Rights before December 31, 2009.  I must set our 2010 operating budget by the end of the year, and I simply must know if you stand with me against the radical anti-gunners in Washington D.C.

Thank you, in advance, for renewing your membership with the National Association for Gun Rights.

For freedom,

P.S. Gun owners are facing the largest onslaught of gun control we are likely to see in our lifetime. Being attacked on so many fronts, we can't afford to fight them all unless you can help us by digging deep and giving more than you've given before.

Please click here to renew your 2010 membership with NAGR before December 31, 2009.
